We shouldn't ever consider stress and pain normal, even if the psychological and physical pressure we subject ourselves to daily trying to meet the demands of family or career, can sometimes become so great we feel guilty, frustrated and anxious, and decidedly worse!

Scheduling regular massage is widely accepted as the ideal way to de-stress after a hard day's work or in an active lifestyle.

With all the pressures of everyday life, it's important to find a space where you can take your mind off things for an hour or two, and what better place to find this space if not in your own home?

All you have to do is call me and I can come to you. No need to get yourself ready to go out, no need to stress out in traffic to get anywhere.

Your house doesn't have to be squeaky clean for me, all I need is a warm, clear 3m x 3m space, 3 towels big enough to cover you and I'll bring all the rest.

I'm fully insured and a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).

The FHT is the UK and Ireland's largest professional association for complementary, holistic, beauty and sports therapists.

About Me

Angela Ferla

My name is Angela Ferla. I was born and raised in Trivero, a little village set in the pre-Alps of north-west Italy, and I've been living in England for the last few years.

My interest in holistic therapies began when I was about 20, after a nasty accident that left me with some serious back pain issues. My healing process led me to learn about Reiki and other alternative medicine, and once healed I really felt the desire to become a holistic practitioner. Now it's been 25 years that I've had the good fortune to help people feel better not just physically but mentally as well, and increase their energy levels.

My studies have included Deep Tissue massage, Anti Stress massage, Lymphatic Vodder draining massage, Ayurvedic, Chinese, Postural and Reiki techniques.

I have been manager of two spas, taught massage and facial treatment for three years at a Salesian vocational training school and, before moving to the UK with my British partner and daughter, I was owner and manager of a centre specializing in natural face and body beauty treatments.

I love to eat healthy and I always try to nourish my body with organic and unprocessed food wherever possible. I believe that food, along with exercise and massage, are essential for achieving and maintaining a good psycho-physical balance, and that together these can help strengthen our immune system, helping it to eliminate the toxins we are unfortunately exposed to in these modern times through the polluted air we breathe and ultra-processed foods we consume.

I love doing Yoga and Pilates and, weather permitting, I always try to find time for a good walk or bike ride to get some fresh air and enjoy the beautiful panoramas West Kirby has to offer with its special light and colours. So don't hesitate to ask me for any cooking tips, or even keep me company on one of my walks!

Your First Session

The initial consultation is included in price if you book a session.

Above all it's important to take some time on the first session, which can last up to 30 minutes more than what you book.

There's a short questionnaire to fill in, where I ask for your personal data and general health condition (name, age and any existing or new health issues)

Then you can explain to me what issues you would like to resolve so that I can "tailor" a personalized massage to your needs.

Preparation Tips

  • Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and underwear, preferably made of natural fibres.
  • Please do not eat or drink alcohol for at least an hour before your session, and try to drink more water than usual before and after the session.
  • If you have to eat before your massage, make it something light.
  • If you want a Reiki session, please try to avoid alcohol from the day before and wear light colours.

For complex issues more than one session could be recommended.

Treatments

To get the maximum benefit from any of these treatments, I recommend drinking plenty of water and avoiding alcohol in the hours immediately before and after.

Head and Neck Massage

Head and Neck Massage

1 hour: £65

A head massage lasts for about 50 minutes.

This massage gives a sense of generalised deep relaxation, and helps people that suffer frequent headaches, neck problems, sinusitis and poor concentration. Perfect for relieving stress, anxiety and tension, improving sleep and mood, it even helps hair grow stronger due to the increased blood flow and oxygenation of the hair follicles.

During the treatment, I will ask you to remove your clothes and wear only panties that are comfortable and not too tight. Again, towels will be used to respect your privacy.

This massage usually extends to the face, arms and back to increase the benefit.

Oil is optional on scalp and face.

Reiki

Reiki

1 hour: £65

Reiki, which in Japanese means "universal energy", is a non-invasive complementary therapy, said to channel natural energy flows for health and well-being, is used to stimulate a natural re-balancing of mind, body and spirit.

Reiki can be performed on the whole body or can be focused on a specific part of the body during a massage.

In a classic Reiki session you will remain fully clothed and lie on a massage table.

I put my hands on or near various parts of the body including head, torso and feet.

You may feel warmth, tingling and deep relaxation. After a session, people usually feel completely recharged, but if you feel tired this soon passes. Just rest and enjoy the deep relaxation.

Reiki is often used alongside conventional care in hospices, hospitals and other healthcare settings, but should never be used instead of conventional medical care.
